Lady Pioneers climb two spots to No. 19 in NFCA Division III Poll
Marietta takes on visiting Baldwin-Wallace Thursday at 3:30 p.m.

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College softball team moved up two spots in the most recent National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) regular season Division III Top 25 Poll of the year, released Wednesday (Apr. 18) afternoon.

The Lady Pioneers, who are now 21-7 and 6-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, were No. 21 in the previous poll.

St. Thomas (Minn.) (26-2) remained on top with Louisiana (26-5) in second, Linfield (Ore.) (28-4) in third and Ithaca (N.Y.) (20-4) in fourth. Moravian (Pa.) (20-4) moved to fifth in the poll, which ranks the top 25 as voted on by eight coaches, one representing each region.

OAC rival Muskingum remained at No. 10, while Mount Union, who lost a twinbill to Marietta on Monday, was ranked No. 15.

The Lady Pioneers play host to Baldwin-Wallace Thursday (Apr. 19) at 3:30 p.m. and then welcome Heidelberg to Marietta Field Saturday (Apr. 21) for a 1 p.m. match-up. Saturday is Marietta's last home game of the regular season, therefore Senior Day. It is also Community Day and Youth Softball Day. There will be free food, prizes and t-shirts.
