Marietta softball ranked eighth in first NCAA Division III Regional Poll
Lady Pioneers 10-4 in regional play

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — The NCAA Division III Softball Committee has released the first NCAA Division III softball poll of the spring, and Marietta College was ranked eighth in the Central Region. The rankings list the top eight teams in each of the eight regions with records as of April 15.

Marietta, who was 18-6 overall with a 10-4 in-region record, as improved to 21-7 on the season after sweeping Mount Union and splitting a doubleheader at Capital earlier this week.

Alma (Mich.) (21-7, 11-1 In-Region) sat atop the region. DePauw (Ind.) (27-3, 17-2 In-Region), Muskingum (22-6, 17-3, In-Region), Hope (Mich.) (17-6, 6-0 In-Region), Thomas More (Ky.) (16-7, 16-6 In-Region), Mount Union (24-4, 16-3 In-Region) and Ohio Northern (18-6, 11-3 In-Region) rounded out second through seventh in the poll. Again, records were as of April 15.

Marietta is back in action this afternoon when it plays host to Baldwin-Wallace in an Ohio Athletic Conference doubleheader at 3:30 p.m.
