Carroll and Romick named Academic All-OAC in 2007
It is the second straight year that the duo earns league honor

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) announced the 2007 Academic All-OAC Softball winners Thursday (May 10) afternoon, and Marietta College seniors Jenny Carroll (Lisbon/Beaver Local) and Lindsey Romick (Hannibal/River) were both named first team Academic All-OAC.

Carroll, an athletic training major with a 3.63 GPA, was an unanimous selection and earned first team honors for the second straight season. She was also named a first team All-OAC and All-Central Region shortstop in 2007. When not playing softball, Carroll is active in the Student Athletic Training Organization.

Romick, an honorable mention selection in 2006, moved up to first team honors this spring. The chemistry major carries a 3.445 GPA into her final semester at Marietta. Romick, an outfielder, was named first team All-OAC and second team All-Central Region this spring. She is also active in Chemistry Club and the Student-Athlete Advisory Council.

26 players from the Conference have been named Academic All-OAC and Academic All-OAC honorable mention in 2007. The academic award winners are selected by the OAC faculty athletics representatives. To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 cumulative GPA, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least her second year of participation in the sport.
