AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) released its 2007 Women's Tennis All-OAC Teams and Special Award Winners Wednesday (May 2) and Marietta College's sophomore standout Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Davidson) earned first team All-OAC honors for the second straight season.
Carraher, who remains the only Lady Pioneer to ever receive first team All-OAC honors in tennis, finished the year with a 10-1 record at first singles. Her lone loss came in the second match of the year and was to fellow first team award winner Kaitlyn Macdonald of Ohio Northern.
Carraher, who also went 6-5 at first doubles, rebounded by winning nine straight matches to finish the year. Two of those wins were over Baldwin-Wallace's Andrea Isaac, who earned her third straight Player of the Year award Wednesday. It was the only two times that Isaac lost an OAC singles match during her four-year career.
Marietta, under the direction of Head Coach Erik Pedersen, finished the season 2-10 overall and 1-8 in the OAC. The Lady Pioneers fell 5-1 to Baldwin-Wallace in the quarterfinals of the OAC Tournament. |
