Marietta College set to make an impact at Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships
Pioneers looking to cap off successful indoor season with high marks at Ohio Northern

MARIETTA, Ohio – A year ago tomorrow, the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center was buzzing with excitement as Marietta College hosted the 2005 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships. In 2006, it is Ohio Northern University's turn to host the main event of the League's indoor season. The festivities are scheduled to begin Friday (Mar. 3) at 1:30 p.m. and concluded Saturday (Mar. 4) around 5:30 p.m.

The Pioneers are looking to improve upon their 10th place finishes from a year ago, when Breanne Kosar, now a sophomore, was the lone All-Conference honoree, placing second in the women's high jump.

Head Coach Derek Stanley has 26 student-athletes, 15 men and 11 women, expected to be traveling to Ada to represent the school at the meet. Overall, a Pioneer will be competing in 21 of the possible 34 events. However, the weight throw, Marietta's strongest event, will not be thrown at the competition.
