Marietta's Larrison named OAC Track Athlete of the Week
Larrison ran OAC's fastest 800m of the year at All-Ohio Championships

MARIETTA, Ohio — Marietta College freshman sprinter, Jessi Larrison (Batavia), fresh off her record-breaking day at the All-Ohio Division III Championships on Saturday (Apr. 15), was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week Monday (Apr. 18).

Larrison set a school record and won the 800m dash, crossing the line in 2:20.08. The previous record (2:25.60) was set by her earlier in the year. Her mark on Saturday was also the fastest time record among OAC runners this season.

Larrison, who holds the school's indoor record in the 500m dash, was a also a key member of the Pioneers' 4x400m relay, which shattered the old school record, 4:21.5 (1988), and took 12th with a mark of 4:14.83. Joining Larrison in the relay were junior Brea Gardner and freshmen Leslie Pyle and Jessica Haas.

Marietta's track & field team returns to action on Friday (Apr. 21), when it travels to Cincinnati for the Mount St. Joseph Invitational.
