Marietta's Potter named Academic All-OAC in track and cross country
Sophomore physics and math major excels both on the track and in the classroom

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference office announced the 2006 Academic All-OAC Men's Track and Cross Country award winners Wednesday (May 17) and Marietta College sophomore distance runner Harrison Potter (Rochester, NY/ Gates Chili) was named Academic All-OAC honorable mention.
Potter, a sophomore physics and mathematics major, carried a 3.91 grade point average into his fourth semester at Marietta College.
Potter placed seventh in the 3,000m steeplechase (9:51.98) at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships held at Marietta College in 2006.
When not running for MC, Potter is active in the Society of Physics Students and the Student Athletic Advisory Council. He is also a Rickey Scholar and member of High Dean’s List and Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
The academic award winners are selected by OAC faculty athletics representatives. 17 athletes, representing track and cross country were selected. To be eligible for Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.25 GPA, be a starter or key reserve and be in at least his/her second year of participation in the sport. |
