Robertson named OAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week
Junior set school record in winning the 5,000m Run

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio — The Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) office released its Athletes of the Week on Monday (Feb. 23) afternoon for the period of Feb. 16-12, and Marietta College junior track & field standout Randi Robertson (Avon Lake) earned OAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors for her effort last week.

Robertson helped the Pioneer women win the Rick Meindl Invitational, which was hosted by Capital University. Marietta collected 156.5 points to defeat the 11 other schools at the competition. Overall, the Pioneers set four school records and had seven event champions.

Robertson, a 2008 All-OAC first team selection in cross country, claimed the individual title in the 5,000m Run. She crossed the line in a school record 18:38.97, which was 45 seconds better than the old mark. In addition to holding the 5,000m record, Robertson holds the 1,000m Run (3:11.06), Mile Run (5:26.20) and 3,000m (10:36.27) indoor records as well as the 1,500m Run (4:51.18), 3,000m Run (10:31.74), 3,000m Steeplechase (11:58.86) and 5,000m Run (18:26.69) outdoor records.

Marietta is back in action on Saturday (Feb. 28) afternoon when the Pioneers host the Marietta Open #3. Action begins at 11 a.m.
