Mount Union takes match in four games over Marietta

MARIETTA, Ohio The Marietta College volleyball team dropped a four-game match to Mount Union tonight (Oct. 12) at Ban Johnson Arena.
The Pioneers (6-17, 1-4 OAC) won the first game 30-27, but the Purple Raiders took the final three (30-26, 30-21, 30-23) to improve to 11-11 overall, 2-3 in the OAC.
Senior Ashley Webster (West Chester/Ursuline Academy) had a team-high 10 digs and three aces in the match.
Senior Jennie Hayden (Powell/Olentangy) collected 10 kills, while sophomores Jaymi Stephens (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) and Ellen Doolittle (Louisville, KY/DuPont Manual) finished with 14 and 8 kills, respectively.
Sophomore setter Paige Burton (Fairlawn/Akron Hoban) had 39 assists and six digs in the loss.
Marietta will return to action Saturday, when they take on Baldwin-Wallace in Berea at 1 p.m.
