MARIETTA, Ohio - The Marietta College volleyball team dropped another tough Ohio Athletic Conference match Tuesday (Oct. 19), as it fell in straight games to Otterbein.
The Pioneers (6-19, 1-6 OAC) came out sluggish in the first game, giving the Cardinals (10-16, 2-4 OAC) the early momentum in which they were able to hold onto the rest of the way in route to the 30-18, 34-32, 30-28 victory.
Sophomore Jaymi Stephens (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) finished with 12 kills to lead Marietta's offense.
Senior Ashley Webster (West Chester/Ursuline Academy) collected eight kills and 10 digs in the loss.
Sophomore Paige Burton (Fairlawn/Akron Hoban) had 24 assists, while freshman Casey Davis (Amanda/Amanda Clearcreek) finished with eight.
Marietta volleyball will return to action this Saturday (Oct. 23) when they travel to Franklin (IN) for a tri-match. The Pioneers will take on host Franklin at 3 p.m. and then battle Defiance at 5 p.m.
