Big Red handle Lady Pioneers in three games for second time this season

GRANVILLE, Ohio - For the second time this season, Marietta College and Denison University got together for a battle on the volleyball court. The Big Red, who came out on top in three games at the River City Tournament, took the match once again Friday (Sept. 16) evening in straight games (30-19, 30-21, 30-15).
The loss drops the Lady Pioneers to 3-5 overall, while Denison improves to 8-4 on the season.
Marietta hit just .103 as a team and committed 17 total errors in the loss.
Juniors Paige Burton (Fairlawn/Akron Hoban) and Jaymi Stephens (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) each finished with eight kills.
Freshman Heather Faehnle (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) added 26 assists and freshman Dena New (Beloit/West Branch) collected 10 digs on the evening.
Marietta will return to action tomorrow (Sept. 17) when it takes on Anderson (IN) at 12 p.m. and Otterbein at 4 p.m. Both matches are non conference and part of the Otterbein Triangular.
