Pioneers net first OAC victory of season with 3-0 win over Wilmington
Marietta defeats Quakers 30-19, 31-29, 30-20

MARIETTA, Ohio - It was all business in Ban Johnson Arena Tuesday (Sept. 27), as the Marietta College volleyball team returned to Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play with a match against Wilmington. The Pioneers came out with intensity and used it to sweep the Quakers 3-0 (30-19, 31-29, 30-20) to improve to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in the OAC. Wilmington fell to 7-9, 0-1 in Conference action.

Junior Jaymi Stephens (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) led the Pioneers, who hit a season-high .333, with 15 kills.

Freshman setter Heather Faehnle (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) collected 37 assists and 13 digs, while sophomore libero Jessica Craig (Uniontown/Lake) added 12 digs in her two games of action. In addition, junior Ellen Doolittle (Louisville, KY/DuPont Manual) finished with three of the team's seven total blocks.

Marietta returns to action Saturday (Oct. 1) when it travels to New Concord to take on rival Muskingum at 1 p.m. There will be a junior varsity match at 11 a.m.
