Marietta volleyball falls to Otterbein

MARIETTA, Ohio - The Marietta College volleyball team fell in straight games 3-0 (30-19, 30-19, 30-27) Tuesday (Oct. 18) evening in an Ohio Athletic Conference game against host Otterbein.
The Pioneers (5-14, 1-6 OAC) were led offensively by junior middle blocker Ellen Doolittle (Louisville, KY/DuPont Manual), who collected 10 kills. In addition, freshman setter Heather Faehnle (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) finished with 32 assists.
Sophomore libero Casey Davis (Amanda/Amanda Clearcreek) paced the defense with 18 digs, while junior Jaymi Stephens (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) added 15 digs to go along with her nine kills.
Marietta returns to action Friday (Oct 21) when it travels to LaRoche for a 7 p.m. match. The Pioneers remain in Pennsylvania Saturday to play three matches at the Allegheny (PA) Invitational. MC will take on host Alleghney at 11 a.m., play Case Western at 1 p.m. and the finish against Scranton (PA) at 3 p.m. |
