Marietta volleyball finishes weekend 3-1

MEADVILLE, Pa. - The Marietta College volleyball team took a break from its Ohio Athletic Conference schedule to play four non conference matches this weekend.

Action began Friday (Oct. 21) with Marietta defeating host LaRoche (Pa.) 3-0 (30-13, 30-20, 30-17). The Pioneers moved on to Allegheny Saturday (Oct. 22) for its annual Invitational.

Marietta opened the day with a 3-0 (19-30, 24-30, 21-30) loss to the host Gators, before bouncing back to top Case Western 3-0 (30-22, 30-16, 30-24) and then defeating Scranton (Pa.) in five games (25-30, 30-24, 26-30, 30-24, 15-10).

The Pioneers return to action for the final week of the OAC season Tuesday (Oct 24) when they play host to Capital. Game time in the home-finale is slated for 7 p.m.
