Offensive struggles send MC to 58-35 loss at Heidelberg

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Marietta College women's basketball dropped its second straight game Saturday (Dec. 4), falling to the Student Princes 58-35 in its OAC opener. The Pioneers (2-4, 0-1 OAC) were led by Rebecca Tokodi (Marietta/Parkersburg Catholic (WV)) with eight points and five boards in the loss.
Marietta was held to just 14-of-43 (32.6%) from the field in the game; Tokodi's teammates combined to make just 10 shots in the loss. Heidelberg (4-1, 2-0 OAC) force the Pioneers into 20 turnovers and shot 17-of-47 (36.2%) from the floor.
Senior Katie Moriarty (North Canton/Hoover) finished with seven points, two steals and two assists, while freshman Abby Hess (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) collected six points and six rebounds for the Pioneers.
Rachel Babione led the Student Princes with 15 points and Holly Brodman added 12 points and eight rebounds in the win.
The Pioneers wil stay on the road for their next game, a 7:30 match-up with the Crusaders of Capital on Wednesday (Dec. 8), before returning home to host the ONU Polar Bears Saturday (Dec. 11) at 3 p.m. |
