First place Yellow Jackets sting Lady Pioneers 93-54

BEREA, Ohio - Marietta College suffered a lopsided 93-54 loss on the road to first place Baldwin-Wallace Saturday (Jan. 15) in Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) women's basketball action.
Baldwin-Wallace (11-4, 7-1 OAC) flew out to a 13-0 lead and never looked back in route to its 20th straight win over the Pioneers (4-9, 2-6 OAC).
Marietta shot 19-of-45 (42.2%) from the floor, while B-W went a blistering 35-of-62 (56.5%) from the field, including 12-of-20 from beyond the arc. The Pioneers committed 22 turnovers in the loss.
Seniors Rebecca Tokodi (Marietta/Parkersburg Catholic) and Katie Moriarty (North Canton/Hoover) led the charge for the Pioneers with 14 and 13 points, respectively. Senior Beth Bakos (Clayton/Northmont) came off the bench to score eight, while freshman Justine Pagenhardt (Oakland, MD/Southern Garrett) added her season average seven points.
Baldwin-Wallace was led by Nikki Altenweg with a game-high 18 points and Jenn Neal who added 16 points in 16 minutes.
Marietta will look to bounce back against Otterbein on Wednesday (Jan. 18) on Fenton Court. Tip-off with the Cardinals is at 7:30 p.m.
