Feb. 7, 2008
MARIETTA, Ohio — The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released its 2008 ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District women's basketball teams Thursday (Feb. 7), and Marietta College senior Justine Pagenhardt (Oakland, Md./Southern Garrett) earned first team honors in District IV. Pagenhardt is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced later this month.
Sports Information Directors from the district (all NCAA Division II, III and NAIA schools in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee and Alabama) nominate and vote on selections with first team all-district selections moving onto the national ballot. In order to qualify a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average and be a starter or key reserve.
Pagenhardt, a four-year letterwinner, entered the week as the Ohio Athletic Conference's leading scorer and is currently averaging 16.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists this season. The guard recently became just the fourth Lady Pioneer in school history to score 1,300 points and sits fourth on the all-time list with 1,357 career points.
During her career, Pagenhardt has received Academic All-OAC in 2005 and 2006. She was also named second team All-OAC in 2006 and given honorable mention All-OAC as freshman in 2005.
Off the court, Pagenhardt carries a 3.92 grade point average as a biology major. She is a member of Athletics Director's Honor Roll and High Dean's List. Pagenhardt, who has also played tennis for the last two seasons, is active in Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, serving as the secretary in 2007-08.
