The Teams: Denison, Marietta, New Jersey City, and Thiel (Pa.)

The Coaches: Marietta is led by first-year Head Coach Jill Meiring. Meiring is a 2001 graduate of Denison. Ashante Timoll is in her third season with New Jersey City. Artina Trader begins her fourth season with the Tomcats. Sara Lee starts her 19th season at Denison.

The Conferences: Four conferences are represented this weekend. The Pioneers compete in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), while Denison battles in the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC). New Jersey City is in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC), and Thiel is a member of the Presidents Athletic Conference (PAC).

Denison University: The Big Red began the year with one win and two losses at the Marymount University Tip-Off Tournament in Arlington, Va. (Nov. 16-18). Junior guard Sarah Perrine leads the team in scoring (12.0) while classmate Carolyn Simpson leads in rebounding (7.0).

Marietta College: The Lady Pioneers went 0-2 at the National City Tip-off Tournament. Marietta fell 77-57 to Grove City (Pa.) in the opening round and 69-47 to host Allegheny (Pa.) in the consolation game. Senior Justine Pagenhardt collected 44 points to earn All-Tournament Team honors, while junior Amanda Carraher and sophomore Jamie Beckett scored 17 and 13 points, respectively, last weekend.

New Jersey City University: The Knights opened the year 1-1 at the Stevens Tip-Off Tournament. Freshman Angela Fitzgerald earned All-Tournament Team honors after averaging 19.0 points and 10.5 rebounds. Junior Alaid Robinson also averaged a double-double, 12.0 points and 12.5 rebounds, this past weekend.

Thiel College: The Tomcats began their season Tuesday (Nov. 20) with a 52-46 loss at La Roche. Junior Amber Bodrick led Thiel with 14 points and nine boards, while freshman Kim Stitt added 12 points and six rebounds.

Up Next for the Pioneers: Marietta plays host to Bethany College in a Pioneer doubleheader on Wednesday (Nov. 28). Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. The men follow against Franciscan at 7:30 p.m.

Winter Schedule Cards: Winter schedule cards are now available. Pick one up at the gate or stop by the Athletics office.

Moving up the Charts: Senior Justine Pagenhardt enters the weekend with 1,090 career points. She is 20 points shy of passing Brenda Brdicka for fifth place on Marietta all-time scoring list.
