Women's Varsity Eight races to a 42nd finish at the Head of the Charles Regatta

BOSTON, MA - The Pioneer women's rowing team sent its Varsity Eight to represent Marietta College at the Head of the Charles this weekend (Oct. 24) in Boston, MA.

The Lady Pioneers competed in the Championship Eight event, which featured two of the three medalists from the Athens Olympics this fall.

Marietta crossed the line in 13:56.955 to finish 42nd against the elite field. ASR Nereus took the gold with a time of 12:06.663, while Princeton (12:08.312) and Yale (12:14.516) finished second and third, respectively.

"The ladies rowed a nice race today," said head coach Karen Glowacki. "They can take the experience they learned from competiting against this field into their winter training and use it as motivation for this spring."
