No. 14 women's rowing ranked atop Mid-Atlantic Region in first NCAA poll

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Lady Pioneer Navy were voted No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the NCAA DIII Women's Rowing Committee regional poll released Wednesday (Apr. 6). The poll helps decide who is invited to the NCAA DIII Championships later this spring. In addition, Marietta remained at No. 14 in the latest USRowing poll.
The championship field consists of six teams and two at-large Eights. In order to be considered for a team ranking and institution must have results in the I Eight and II Eight events. Institutions that only race the I Eight will be considered for the I Eight ranking.
The Lady Pioneers were voted atop both the team rankings and the I Eight rankings. Washington (MD) and Bryn Mawr (PA) round out the top three in both polls.
Smith (MA), the nation's top DIII team, No. 2 Ithaca (NY) and No. 5 Puget Sound (WA) were the top teams in the New England, New York and Pacific regions, respectively.
Marietta's next race is the Knecht Cup in Camden, New Jersey, on Saturday and Sunday (Apr. 16-17).
