MC women's rowing wins silver at Dad Vails

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Lady Pioneer Navy finished runners-up in the finals of the DII/DIII Varsity Heavyweight Eight race Saturday (May 14) afternoon at the 2005 Dad Vail Regatta.

The Lady Pioneers, who were the defending race champions, gave it all they had, but Barry (7:31.91) was able to beat Marietta (7:37.51) to the finish line to win the gold medal.

Nova SE, which won the morning heat, took third (7:37.58), while RIT (7:39.18), Florida Tech (7:44.57) and Dowling (7:46.08) followed in fourth through sixth.

Marietta's Varsity Eight sits from bow Megan Rogers, Meg Foraker, Corinne Mees, Amanda Chuderewicz, Kim Becker, Kelsey McNamara, Dorothy Klaiber, stroke Lindsay Letterle and coxswain Meredith Rogers.

The Pioneers' second place finish, combined with the two bronze medals won by the men, gave Marietta 24 points, good enough for third place in the team points competition at the regatta.
