Lindamood and Anagnostu earn Division III CRCA National Scholar-Athletes honors

MARIETTA, Ohio — The Marietta College women’s rowing program had two members of the Varsity Eight selected as NCAA Division III Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) National Scholar-Athletes this week. Senior Laurel Lindamood (Marietta) and sophomore Sotiria Anagnostu (Mishauvaka, Ind./Culver Academy) were both given the honor of National Scholar-Athlete.
Lindamood, a marketing major, sat in the sixth seat, while Anagnostu, an environmental studies major, sat in the fifth seat for the Pioneers this season.
The Varsity Eight rowed to an overall record of 12-19 on the water this spring. Marietta realigned its schedule this season to gear itself toward competing for the NCAA DIII Championships.
The CRCA National Scholar-Athlete must have a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average for her career, be at least a sophomore standing and have rowed for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races. |
