Women's soccer falls 1-0 to Otterbein in OAC showdown

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Marietta College women's soccer team suffered a heartbreaking defeat this afternoon to Otterbein, as a penalty kick in the 86th minute gave the Cardinals a 1-0 victory.

The Pioneers (10-5, 3-3 OAC) managed just five shots in the game, while Otterbein (10-3-2, 5-1 OAC) fired off 12 in the win.

Jess Lytle scored the game-winner for Otterbein after Marietta was called for a handball in the box.

Marietta's Bethany Blahnik (Mansfield/Ontario) made seven saves in the loss.

The Pioneers will travel to Berea Saturday to battle Baldwin-Wallace at 5 p.m.
