Marietta Soccer gets big 3-1 win at Baldwin-Wallace

BEREA, Ohio - The Marietta College women's soccer team picked up an important 3-1 win over Baldwin-Wallace this evening (Oct. 23) to stay alive in the race for a bid to the OAC Tournament.

Junior Emily Knowlton (Marietta) scored two goals and fellow defender Kristin Drain (Point Pleasant, WV) scored the other, an uassisted goal, in the victory. Knowlton was assisted by Amy Lehosit (Pickerington) on her first goal in the 37th minute and by Jill Sorboro (Cuyahoga Falls) on her second in the 79th minute, her third of the season.

B-W got its lone goal from Kristi Michaels in the 82nd minute of the game.

Junior goalkeeper Bethany Blahnik (Mansfield/Ontario) had three saves and faced six shots in the win, the first win for Marietta that was not a shutout in 2004.

The Pioneers will return to action Wednesday (Oct. 27) when they travel to Mount Union for a 7 p.m. contest with the Purple Raiders.
