MC's Blahnik named COSIDA Second Team Academic All-District IV

MARIETTA, Ohio – Marietta College soccer stand-out Bethany Blahnik (Mansfield/Ontario) received Second Team COSIDA Academic All-District IV honors in 2004.

Blahnik, a junior, carries a 3.75 GPA as an allied health major. Blahnik played in all 18 games, collecting 98 saves and posting 11 shutouts in 1,603 minutes in the goal for the Pioneers. The goalkeeper finished the season leading the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 0.78 goals against average, a save percentage of 0.875 and in shutouts. Her 11 shutouts is a Marietta College single-season record.

The Pioneer women’s soccer team finished the season with an overall record of 12-6, placing fifth in the OAC with a record of 5-4. It is the second-straight year they reached the 12-win mark, which is a school record.
