Lehosit named First Team All-OAC; three teammates also earn All-Conference honors in women's soccer

TWINSBURG, Ohio – The Ohio Athletic Conference announced its 2004 women’s soccer special awards and All-OAC teams this morning (Nov. 11). Juniors Amy Lehosit (Pickerington), Kristin Drain (Point Pleasant, WV), Bethany Blahnik, (Mansfield/Ontario) and Emilee Knowlton (Marietta) all received recognition for their play during this season.

Lehosit earned First Team All-OAC honors for the first time during her career as a Pioneer. The midfielder received Second Team All-OAC honors as a sophomore in 2003, and All-OAC Honorable Mention as a freshman in 2002. Lehosit finished the 2004 season with six goals and seven assists. The junior's 19 points ranked seventh in the Conference, while her seven assists was third-best in the OAC this year.

Drain received Second Team All-OAC honors, after receiving All-OAC Honorable Mention honors in 2003. She started all 18 games this season, collecting three goals and one assist. In addition, Knowlton was selected All-OAC Honorable Mention.  She started 17 games and scored three goals on the year. The two junior defenders played a vital role in the success of the Pioneers this season.

Marietta's goalkeeeper Blahnik was recognized for her efforts in 2004 with All-OAC Honorable Mention honors. Blahnik played in all 18 games, collecting 98 saves and posting 11 shutouts in 1,603 minutes in the goal for the Pioneers. The goalkeeper finished the season leading the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 0.78 goals against average, a save percentage of 0.875 and in shutouts. Her 11 shutouts is a Marietta College single-season record. Blahnik also received Second Team COSIDA Academic All-District IV honors for her efforts in the classroom this season.

The 2004 Pioneers finished fifth in the OAC with a school-record tying 12-6 overall record, 5-4 in the Conference.
