Marietta women tie Baldwin-Wallace 0-0

Oct. 22, 2005
BEREA, Ohio – 110 minutes of action could not produce a goal Saturday (Oct. 22), so the Marietta and Baldwin-Wallace women's soccer teams left Finnie Stadium in Berea with a 0-0 tie. The Pioneers now stand 13-2-2 overall, 4-2-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Yellow Jackets moved to 11-4-2 on the year, 3-2-2 in league play.

The game, which may end up having important ramifications in the upcoming OAC playoff scene, saw Marietta out shoot Baldwin-Wallace 12-7.

Lady Pioneer senior goalkeeper Bethany Blahnik (Mansfield/Ontario) collected four saves en route to her 11 shutout of the year, tying her single-season record set a year ago. Baldwin-Wallace's Michelle Neff finished with eight saves on the day.

Marietta will continute its quest to make the OAC Tournament when it takes on Mount Union Tuesday (Oct. 25) at Marietta Field. Game time is slated for 4 p.m.
