Marietta and Muskingum battle to a scoreless tie in women's soccer
Pioneers move to 0-1-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference

NEW CONCORD, Ohio — The Marietta College women's soccer team traveled to Muskingum College in search of its first Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) victory of the season on Wednesday (Oct. 15) afternoon. The Pioneers and the Fighting Muskies battled for 110 minutes without either team scoring, resulting in a scoreless tie.

Marietta improved its record to 2-8-3 overall and 0-1-3 in the OAC. Muskingum moved to 5-6-2 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.

Marietta out-shot Muskingum 24-22, including 6-2 in shots on goal. The Pioneers also held a 12-1 edge in corners kicks. Marietta freshman goalkeeper Syndey Collins (Cincinnati/Country Day) finished with two saves en route to her first career shutout.

Marietta is back in action on Saturday (Oct. 18) afternoon when the Pioneers take on host Capital University at 1 p.m. in Columbus.
