Pioneers fall 3-0 to host Yellow Jackets in OAC women's soccer action
Marietta plays host to Mount Union Tuesday at 4 p.m.

BEREA, Ohio — Host Baldwin-Wallace College broke open a scoreless game at the intermission with three second half goals to send the Marietta College women's soccer team to a 3-0 defeat Saturday (Oct. 25) night.

With the loss, the Pioneers fall to 4-9-3 overall and 2-2-3 in the Ohio Athletic Conference with two games left to play in the regular season. The Yellow Jackets improved to 7-6-3, including 4-3 in league play.

Baldwin-Wallace out-shot Marietta 20-8 overall and 7-4 in shots on goal. Both teams had nine corner kicks.

The Yellow Jackets took a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute. Linsey Clapacs scored an unassisted goal when she beat Marietta sophomore keeper Helen Hetzel (Radnor/Buckeye Valley) to the far post from 25-yards out.

Noelle Fox made it 2-0 in the 87th minute when she scored on a cross from teammate Natalie Fox. Fox added the final goal of game minutes later, this time following a cross from Liz Rice to give the Yellow Jackets a 3-0 win.

Marietta's Hetzel and Baldwin-Wallace's Becky Miner both made four saves in the game.

Marietta will look to bounce back and stay in the running for one of the six OAC Tournament slots when the Pioneers play host to Mount Union College on Wednesday (Oct. 29) at 4 p.m.
