Pioneer women fall 7-2 to visiting Quakers
Carraher remains undefeated at first singles

MARIETTA, Ohio — Senior Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson) continued her dominance at first singles, but the Marietta College women's tennis team fell 7-2 to visiting Wilmington College on Tuesday (April 14) afternoon inside the Dyson Baudo Recreation Center.

Carraher, a three-time All-OAC first team selection, moved her season record to 8-0 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory in singles action. She also increased her career record to 37-4.

Earlier in the match, Carraher teamed up with junior Lauren McKiernan (Parkersburg, W.Va./South) to win 8-1 at first doubles. The victory improved the duo's record to 6-1 in 2009.

Marietta will return to action on Saturday (April 18) afternoon when the Pioneers visit Baldwin-Wallace College at 1 p.m.

Senior Amanda Carraher improved to 8-0 at first singles with a win on Tuesday against Wilmington.
