Marietta falls to host Shawnee State 7-2
Pioneers conclude regular season on Saturday against Ohio Northern

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio — The Marietta College women's tennis team fell 7-2 to host Shawnee State University on Thursday (April 23) afternoon.

The loss dropped the Pioneers' record to 2-9, while the Bears improved to 5-7.

Junior Lauren McKiernan (Parkersburg, W.Va./South) and senior Amanda Carraher (Hilliard/Hilliard Davidson) moved to 8-2 on the year with an 8-2 win at first doubles. Carraher then added Marietta's second point with a 6-0, 6-4 victory at first singles.

The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday (April 25) when they close out the regular season with a match against Ohio Northern University at 1 p.m.

Junior Lauren McKiernan and the Pioneers fell to Shawnee State.
