Connect MC
Every year, student machines introduced to the campus network may contain harmful viruses and malware. The best way to insure the integrity of the network is to require that all anti-virus software and operating systems are current and maintained.
Each student accessing the Marietta College network is required to login and to maintain operating system patches and an up-to-date anti-virus software package.
Note: The registration software will not collect any personal information.

Networking Devices
Wireless access (802.11a, b and g) is now available in the residence halls, supported and maintained by the Department of Information Technology.
Wireless routers, hubs, and/or access points will no longer be allowed on the campus network.
Do not bring them to campus.
Other Networking Devices
Non-computer Networked Devices such as PDAs, PlayStations and Xboxes
Game consoles and other networked devices that need special consideration—or are not capable of running a browser—must register a Media Access Control (MAC) address, a unique number that allows these machines to connect to a network.
To determine and register the MAC address for each device, visit: https://mcnet.marietta.edu/~it/register/
Information Technology allows Internet connectivity for these devices, but it does not offer support and bandwidth demands are not guaranteed.

Voice Over IP Networks providing Internet telephone service, including Lingo, Skype and Vonage
Information Technology allows Internet connectivity for Voice Over IP devices run through a PC.
Independent routers to support these services are not permitted on the campus network.
Bandwidth demands are not guaranteed.
