Connect MC
Every year, student machines introduced to the campus network may contain harmful viruses and malware. The best way to insure the integrity of the network is to require that all anti-virus software and operating systems are current and maintained.
Each student accessing the Marietta College network is required to login and to maintain operating system patches and an up-to-date anti-virus software package.
Note: The registration software will not collect any personal information.

Step 1. Install the CCA Agent - Only Needed for Windows Users
Go to http://quarantine.marietta.edu/CCAA/CCAAgent_Setup.exe to download the CCA Agent file.
After downloading the Clean Access Agent, open (or run) the program. This will start the InstallShield Wizard.
Installation will run through four screens, featured below.
Unless you change the location, the Wizard will create a new folder in your Program Files directory: "Cisco Systems\Clean Access Agent\" For additional help with installing the agent, call the IT help desk (x 4860). |
When downloading the CCA Agent, you should see the following pop-up window. Click "OK."
|

Step 2. Logging into the Network
| Once you have the CCA Agent installed on your computer, login through the client. You should see the icon in the system tray (highlighted in red): |
If you do not see the icon, you may need to click the Show Hidden Icons button (highlighted in green). You will also have a shortcut placed on your desktop (double-click this if it does not appear in the system tray): |
Once you have the CCA Agent started, a login window should appear:
If the login windows does not appear, right click on the system tray icon and make sure "Popup Login Window" is checked. (You can also right click on the icon and click "Login" to manually open the window.)
Type your Marietta College UserID and password, and click Login.
|
You might be prompted to update your computer or virus scan before you can get online. If so, you will see a window like the following: Click on "Go to Link" and follow the on-screen instructions. Complete each subsequent step to gain access. |
2. Install Anti-Virus Software
If you do not have a current and up to date install of Norton/Symantec, McAfee, Trend, AVG, or Sophos, you must download and install Symantec Anti-Virus. Symantec Anti-Virus may be obtained from the "Anti-Virus" folder in your MyMC briefcase (FileName: Symantec Anti-virus.msi).
3. Install all Critical Updates
Point Internet Explorer to http://update.microsoft.com and make sure that all updates marked as "Critical Updates" are installed.
