General Chemistry

Basic principles of chemistry. Includes atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, states of matter, and solutions. Atomic and bonding theories, and fundamental laws of chemistry explored from a historical perspective. Problem solving emphasized. Chemistry 131 is intended for athletic training, biology, biochemistry, chemistry, environmental science, geology, health science, petroleum engineering, and physics majors or for students requiring the course for a minor or as a graduate/professional school prerequisite.
