"The Ground Hog may have seen his shadow, but the Marietta College Forensics Team saw trophies at their first competition of the 2nd semester.  After a long winter break it is difficult to compete against schools that have been practicing for the entire month of January, but the MC students proved their determination.  I am so proud of their accomplishments," said team coach, Dr. Mabry O’Donnell. "Except for team president, Heather Boomer, all of the students on the MC squad for this tournament are novices."

Heather Boomer said, "We were up against some tough competition, but I think this was a great first tournament of the semester.  It’s always hard to speak again after a long J-term, but this will help prepare us for Geneva and Nationals."

Carly Wesemeyer said, "Malone was great, as there was great competition and camaraderie between both the schools and the individuals.  It was a wonderful time spent with new and old friends."

Scott Burnham said, "It was great to see the familiar faces of our competitors and how much they have improved since OFA in September.  The competition was very strong and enjoyable to watch."
