MARIETTA COLLEGE FORENSICS TEAM Continues Its Success at Malone University
2nd place Sweepstakes
Number of Awards: 12
"This is the most balanced, caring, and supportive team anyone could be privileged to know. Even though they are competing in individual events, and often against one another, their emphasis is toward the end result for the team. For a small group of students to have this spirit is amazing. We are extremely proud of the excellent student/competitors," stated Dr. Mabry O’Donnell, McCoy and Hillyer Professor and Coach of the team.
"Competing at Malone University this past weekend was a wonderful experience. Our team had the opportunity to try out new pieces and learn from their fellow competitors. As the Assistant Coach, I am very proud of all of their hard work and determination," stated Megan Schreck.
Jacob Loukas said, "It was great to have one of my last experiences going up against big universities and succeeding."
Scott Burnham stated, "The Malone University Tournament was fun. It was extremely eye-opening to see all the different variations of style within each event. It was a very competitive tournament, but (as usual) our team represented Marietta at its best."
"For the team to receive the 2nd place Sweepstakes award when competing against much larger schools was phenomenal. Everyone won something individually, and we couldn’t have pulled it off without the mutual support and team morale we have built up," stated the team president, Heather Boomer.
