"Although many of our team members had other responsibilities and activities on campus the final weekend of the semester, four of our freshman and sophomore members were determined to defend MC’s record at the Transylvania University tournament. These four students entered as many events as did much larger teams, which means that they were running from room to room delivering a variety of presentations during the day. The resolve and ability of these four competitors were praised by all of the coaches. The thrill of our successes, many of them in new events, kept us awake and talking during the long trip back to Marietta," stated Mabry O’Donnell, coach of the forensics team.
Ryan Ellis said, "I would give Transy a rank of 1 with a rate of 100. This Tournament was amazing. I had so much help from my teammates and had so much fun competing with them against the other teams. It was great to see us reach our potential; everyone did so well."
Kristin Norton said, "This tournament gave me a chance to share my passions with others. I loved the chance."
Scott Burnham said, "The Transylvania tournament was a great way for our team to bond and use our creative ‘juices’ to see what we could do. It was amazing to be able to realize that a mere four students could compete hard enough and amass enough points for third place team. This was fun!"
