Mission Statement

The Charles Sumner Harrison Organization aids Marietta College in its efforts of fostering inclusion, collaboration, and relationship building across campus. CSHO provides transitional support, programming, and workshops in order to increase unity on campus. The Charles Sumner Harrison Organization represents the minority voice in a positive way and advocates for changes that are needed within Marietta College to foster unity and inclusion between all students, faculty, and staff. The organization promotes dialogue between individuals of diverse backgrounds. CSHO supports cultural events and organizations, conducts diversity awareness programs, addresses the needs and climate of diverse groups, and advocates on behalf of underrepresented students.

CSHO Annual Fashion Show

Founded in November 2005, the annual Charles Sumner Harrison Organization Fashion Show is a favorite event during the fall semester. Approximately 40 models—students and a few staff members—dress to impress a packed McDonough Auditorium. Planning and practice for the event starts months in advance and with all admission proceeds going to charity.
