
T.E.A.M. is a Peer Mentor Program designed to provide a supportive experience for the personal and intellectual development of first-year minority students at Marietta College.
The specific objectives are to provide a continuing orientation to the college and community life, to help students develop a sense of belonging and to help students identify positively with the college. T.E.A.M. also wants to demonstrate genuine concern for them and to inspire students through moral support. To facilitate this process, each mentee is paired with a peer mentor.

Responsibilities of Peer Mentors
1. Assist mentee in realizing the maximum educational benefits available to them by helping them to better understand themselves.
2. Believe passionately in the mentee’s dreams and career goals.
3. Give advice and encouragement about coping with college life.
4. If contacted by mentee, assist during times of crisis.
5. Direct mentee to appropriate campus resources.
6. Genuinely celebrate mentee successes.
7. Encourage mentee to participate in school and/or community activities, such as community service.
8. Encourage mentee to use Marietta College resources to meet their special educational needs and aspirations.
Responsibilities of Mentee
1. Recognize the valuable resource potential available to you in your mentoring relationship.
2. Make and keep appointments with your peer mentor. If you must cancel an appointment, demonstrate common courtesy and let your peer mentor know in advance.
3. Get to know your peer mentor.
4. Be knowledgeable about Marietta College policies.
