PA Program News

  • Marietta College has recently announced that the PA Program will be expanding from 24 to 36 students by June 2010. This opportunity will allow the program to increase the number of faculty and staff which will help to better prepare our students for their chosen profession. There will now be seven core faculty and three staff to facilitate our students' education.

Mrs. Jennifer Childers has served as the Clinical Coordinator for the past year and will now be an assistant professor with her major responsibility for instruction during the didactic phase of the program. Mrs. Penny Rose will assume the duties of the Clinical Coordinator as of July 1, 2009. Mrs. Rose has been with the MC PA Program since its inception in 2002 and is eager to begin her new role with the program.

The expansion has also allowed the PA Program to move into a newly renovated space which will provide an excellent learning environment. In addition to classrooms, the building is being renovated to include a student lounge, faculty offices, administrative offices, four clinical examination rooms and four small breakout rooms for student problem based discussions.

We encourage everyone to stop by our new facility. We will host an open house in October 2009 after our White Coat Ceremony. More details to follow.
