International Programs

It is my pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all international students.  The Office of International Programs (OIP) serves the international student population by providing them with an introduction and orientation to the Marietta College community, and by offering ongoing support as they transition to life and school in United States.

The OIP is a bridge between North American and international students, heightening campus awareness of cultural diversity by advocating for equity where differences and tensions may arise.  We host social activities and opportunities such as Peer Partnership Program and the Mentor Family Program to establish personal connections betwee international and American students and families.  As a Marietta alumnus, I have benefited significantly from these programs.

Information is provided by the OIP on a wide range of topics including visas (maintaining status, travel and employment eligibility), financial questions, social and cultural differences, and personal concerns.  To minimize the difficulties our international students and exchange visitors may experience upon arrival, we offer a cultural adjustment workshop during Orientation, and information is available at the office throughout the semester.  Each semester free seminars are held to provide professional advice by the OIP staff.

I sincerely wish you a rewarding experience as international members of our student body.  I encourage you to seek assistance you may require from members of the International Programs Office.  Please also feel free to seek advice on academic as well as non-academic matters from us.  Best wishes

We look forward to serving you.
