American-International Association
The American-International Association (AIA) has three main objectives:
- to increase the positive interactions and understanding between international and American students
- to support the Marietta College core value of globalization by exposing students to different cultures
AIA meets every other Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Fireplace Lounge on the main floor of Andrews Hall.
At each meeting we highlight the culture of one of our members. We ask them to share photos and artifacts that represent their culture and to share stories of their home town, their family background, and traditions they still celebrate.
We also plan activities for club members and the campus community, including:
|
- Presentations about students who have traveled abroad
- A fundraising dinner of homemade dishes from China, Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Austria and India
- MC International Week Programs
|
Trips to:
- ice skating in Athens, OH
- Blue Jackets game in Columbus, OH
- a Japanese Festival in Columbus, OH
- plays at the Smoot Theatre in Parkersburg, WV
