Study Abroad Testimonials

Sarah Salamon, Psychology Major

During the Spring of 2006 I had the opportunity to go on the Mediterranean trip that the McDonough Leadership Program sponsored for Leadership and Education students. Our trip included travel to Rome Italy, Vatican City, all throughout Egypt, and Athens Greece. The program was also a three-credit class so we had the experience of traveling to fun and exciting locations as well as focusing these adventures within the structure of international leadership.

What I appreciated most about the trip was that there were structured tours and lectures but then plenty of time to go out on our own to travel and explore independently. Some of my favorite experiences were attending an audience with the Pope, scuba diving in Alexandria Egypt and seeing Cleopatra's palace underwater, and walking through ancient Greek ruins.

Overall, the trip was an amazing experience and I recommend students take advantage of the international opportunities Marietta College offers.
