Dr. Dailey has been teaching public relations at Marietta College since 2007. Prior to this, she worked as a public relations practitioner in the environmental industry for nearly 20 years. Dr. Dailey is the faculty adviser for the Public Relations Student Society of America (Marietta Chapter).
She began her career as the public involvement and media relations coordinator for the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency. Later, she joined a Midwest environmental engineering firm where she had the opportunity to build a government and community relations program from the ground up. In 2001, she was named partner and received her Accreditation in Public Relations from the Universal Accreditation Board in 2000. She has counseled a variety of government, non-profit and private sector clients in conflict management, community involvement and media relations. She also has written various environmental grants.
Over the course of her career she has received several recognitions for her work including Columbus' Outstanding Forty-Under-40 Award for business professionals. In addition, she served on the Ohio Small Business Environmental Compliance Board, worked as a registered lobbyist, and was active in a number of business and professional organizations.
She has presented research on media and environmental advocacy at national conferences, including the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. She also has published articles on various environmental topics in trade and professional magazines.
Dr. Dailey was elected to serve on the 2013 board of directors of the Central Ohio chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. The chapter serves more than 360 public relations professionals across the Central Ohio region who work in the corporate, government, agency and nonprofit sectors.
