Dr. Danford was born and raised in southeastern Ohio. He has participated in summer programs in Toledo, Spain, was director of the OSU study abroad programs in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and Toledo, Spain.

For two years he lived in Madrid, Spain, teaching, English as a foreign language while completing a portion of doctoral coursework. Dr. Danford taught Spanish at Ohio State, Montclair (N.J.) State and Ohio University before joining Marietta College as a full-time professor in August 1998.

He is currently an associate professor of Spanish and Portuguese, Coordinator of Study Abroad.

He is also working on English-language translation of a 17th-century Jesuit missionary catalog of cultural differences between the Japanese and Europeans.

Dr. Danford became a tenured faculty member in the fall of 2007.
