What can a student expect when taking one of your classes?
Students can expect to make connections between academic theory and concepts, and “real world” examples and situations. The outcomes of my classes are designed to help students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to advance as they begin their career or continue their academics.
What excites you about teaching at Marietta College?
I think the most exciting thing about teaching here at Marietta College is the class sizes. Because they’re small, I’m granted the privilege of getting to know students better than I would at an institution with larger class sizes. I’m able to develop creative teaching methods that not only allow me to share information with students, but I’m also able to learn from them as well. That’s exciting!
When you aren’t teaching, what other activities do you enjoy?
I’m also a professional speaker, trainer, and consultant. Much of my time is spent writing my book.
Do you prefer flipping through the pages of a book or an e-book?
I only flip through the pages when determining if it is one I’d like to read. Once the decision is made, I don’t flip. The format of the book doesn’t matter. I read both physical books and e-books.
What is your favorite location on campus and why?
My favorite location on campus is in the classroom. Any classroom where I’m interacting with students.
What is your favorite Marietta College event?
Class — and trying to make each class an “event.”
