As an active member of the Marietta College community, Keira worked in both the Writing Center and Academic Resource Center as a tutor, prepared the introductory Biology lab course materials, hosted workshops for students writing lab reports, served as a teaching assistant for Microbiology, and developed passions for collaborating with faculty and mentoring other students.
Her master’s thesis explored the use of apocalyptic rhetoric in works of environmental nonfiction, literary fiction, and science fiction. While in Nevada, she wrote grant proposals for local non-profit organizations, mentored students to staff the new University Writing Center at the University of Nevada, Reno, and provided writing and editing consultations to students, faculty and area businesses.
