Bill Johnson began his employment with the Marietta College Police Department in February of 2009 and was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in November 2011. Prior to coming to Marietta College, Bill attended Hocking College and earned his Associates Degree in Police Science. He has also previously worked as a Deputy Sheriff, Campus Police Officer and a State Police Officer before his employment at Marietta College
During his time with the Marietta College Police Department, he has become the agency’s Instructor in the following areas: R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense), Firearms, Taser, ASP Baton, Handcuffing and is the agencies TLO (Terrorism Liaison Officer). He has attended multiple Criminal Investigation courses and is a certified Master Criminal Investigator through the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy.
In addition to his service at Marietta College, Bill works as a part time deputy with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and also teaches at Washington State Community College for the Ohio Peace Officer’s Training Academy teaching the basic recruit class.
