Professor Marshall C. Kimball is Director of Bands and Instrumental Activities at Marietta College, after completing a 30-year career as a band director in the State of Ohio. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree cum laude in Music Education and a Master of Music from Ohio University. Kimball completed additional course at Ashland University, VanderCook College of Music, Akron University, Illinois State University and Walsh University. He presently is a member of MENC, OMEA, Phi Beta Mu, Kappa Kappa Psi, Phi Mu Alpha, NEA, OEA, the Society for Music Teacher Education, National Bandmaster Association, College Band Directors National Association and the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association.
Professor Kimball's duties include: Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, all small Instrumental Ensembles, percussion lessons, and music education courses. He has served on the college curriculum committee, wellness committee and has chaired the Technology Advisory Group. He presently serves as the Chair of the Teaching and Learning Committee as a part of the college's reaccreditation committee.
In addition to his college responsibilities, Professor Kimball is in demand as a clinician and judge. He judges solo and ensemble, concert band and marching band competitions. He has served as the state chair for the Music Support Group of the Ohio Music Education Association and is the past president of the Society of Alumni and Friends of the Ohio University School of Music. He presently serves as President of the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association and is the State Advisor for the Collegiate Music Education Association for the Ohio Music Education Association.
