What can a student expect when taking one of your classes?
Students should expect to have a lot of hands on application, as well as a lot of interaction when taking one of my classes. My classroom is more laid back to allow students to ask questions and interact with each other. I also try to have a good time while also making sure the students are understanding the concepts.
What excites you about teaching at Marietta College?
The small class sizes are very beneficial here at Marietta College. Typically after the first day of class I am able to know all the students names. This is important for me so that I can interact with the students while also addressing them by name.
When you aren’t teaching, what other activities do you enjoy?
I really enjoy working out, supporting our students in different events such as a theater production, music event or athletic event. I also enjoy baking and trying new recipes, and sharing them with the students!
Do you prefer flipping through the pages of a book or an e-book?
I really enjoy having an actual book in my hands. I am old fashion and still rent library books to read. I like actually seeing my progress!
What is your favorite location on campus and why?
Fenton Court on a sold-out basketball game is the best place to be. You can see the pride and school spirit, which is a lot of fun! The gym gets so loud and makes for a really fun and awesome atmosphere!
What is your favorite Marietta College event?
Midnight breakfast! This is a great time to interact with the students outside of the classroom and helping them re-energize before they have to start finals week. The bonus is that the faculty and staff get to sample the breakfast after the students have left which is always good!
